What I think of Copyrights and Patents

Align images in WordPress’ RSS feed

One of the things that started to bug me lately was how images were all over the place on the site’s RSS feed. This ruined formatting and really made the whole thing quite messy if any of you out there read what I post here through RSS.

As it turns out the fix is as simple as installing a plugin that solves that. It’s called Align RSS Images and you can install it just like any other plugin. Easy peasy.

One year uptime, Rift and some other stuff

No idea what was the exact day I bought the domain/hosting and started working on this site as a hobby, but it’s been roughly a year now. I know this because I had to renew it all, sometimes I wonder if it’s worth it since I end up spending quite some time without paying any attention to it. I guess that’s the nature of such sites :)

Been spending a *lot* of time playing Rift, I’m quite amazed how good something I’ve never heard of till about a couple of months ago can be. Couple of guys I know mentioned the open beta was up and I tried it. A few hours after I found myself buying it. I had recently restarted playing WoW but as soon as the month’s subscription ended I was finding myself really bored with it and Rift was entering it’s head start for pre-order customers. Perfect timing. Dragon Age 2 is supposed to be coming out too, that’s another one to check out.

Haven’t spent much time around my Spica as of lately, which is just as well since development for the Cyanogenmod Spica beta seems to have come to a halt. Probably because everything’s working quite well and it really shouldn’t be called a beta anymore. Been using the 8.3 beta for a few months now and it’s working like a charm.

Also, saw Tron Legacy the other day. Awesome sauce.

Status update, Thu Sep 2 2010

So I’m back from Leiria, had a blast over there and I wish I could go there more often. Maybe even live there. Good times with good friends.

Sometimes I start thinking I’d really like to move away from Lisbon and Leiria looks like a perfect target. I’d be really tempted to move there if I had a somewhat ok(ish) job offer.

Moved to Ubuntu 10.04 on the Desktop, figured since I’ve been doing all my gaming on the Xbox I don’t really need Windows though I really enjoyed Win7. The only thing bugging me is that nvclock still doesn’t support my 250GTS nvidia card and I can’t slow down the card’s fan like in Win7 with some program I can’t remember the name of. Temperatures still remain acceptable while not gaming and at least my computer doesn’t sound like it’s about to take off. Network and file sharing worked right out of the box with the mac since it was already set up for a SMB network, that was a nice surprise following the struggle to get the mac working together with Win7.
